Selena Gomez

Happy album-versary to these artists...

Last week marked the 5th anniversary of Selena Gomez's album "Revival". To celebrate, the singer decided to host a listening party for fans around the world to join in on!

Gomez tweeted:

However, this isn't the only album turning 5 years-old this year...here's 5 albums celebrating their 5 year anniversary this year!!!

Revival, Selena Gomez

Revival was the second studio album to come from global superstar Selena Gomez. After a few years of heavy criticism from the public, Gomez stood up for herself and reclaimed her worth within the project's 11 tracks. Long time friend and collaborator Julia Michaels worked with Gomez to write top singles, "Good For You", "Hands to Myself", and "Revival".

If You're Reading This It's Too Late, Drake

This album was a complete surprise release and is still highly regarded five years later. Drake announced the album out of nowhere by tweeting the itunes link the night it became available. Twitter went into a frenzy for the mixtape project. Drake earned a Best Rap Album Grammy Award nomination for his work.

Hamilton: An American Musical, Broadway Cast Recording

Five years ago, Hamilton released the cast recording of the show and broadway fans haven't been the same since. Winner of a whopping 11 Tony Awards, this show written by Lin-Manuel Miranda is a hip-hop retelling of America's founding fathers. Earlier this year, the show celebrated the 5th anniversary by premiering the show for subscribers on Disney+.

Pageant Material, Kacey Musgraves

Our favorite country queen, Kacey Musgraves released her second studio album back in 2015. The project, titled "Pageant Material", hit number one on Billboard's Top Country Albums and number three on the Billboard 200. Since then, the singer has released one other album, "Golden Hour", which debuted in 2018.

25, Adele

Adele's album "25"gave us iconic ballads including "Water Under the Bridge" and the infamous "Hello". The music video to the single "Hello" became the fastest to break 100 million views on youtube. That record had previously been held by Miley Cyrus's "Wrecking Ball". Since then, Adele has still yet to release another full-length album.
