Adele personally talked to fans over FaceTime as they showed up to Las Vegas for what would have been the first night of her residency.

On Thursday, the singer announced on Twitter that she was postponing her Las Vegas residency "Weekends with Adele," just one day before the first show date. The star, who was visibly upset in the video, told fans that the show was not ready due to delivery delays and COVID spreading among half of her staff and crew.

However, due to the last minute notice and inability to change travel plans, many fans still showed up in Vegas at the iconic Colosseum of Caesars Palace Hotel where the residency was supposed to take place.

Members of Adele's team passed around a cell phone to fans where Adele chatted with them and personally apologized to as many people as she could. The singer was clearly emotional and teary-eyed as she spoke to them.

The "Easy on Me" singer offered her fans free merchandise and meet-and-greets once the shows were rescheduled.

In one video shared to social media Adele was seen talking to a group of four who traveled from New York to see the show. The fans were more than sympathetic and understanding of the situation, with the man holding the phone telling a teary-eyed Adele,

"you can't put pressure on yourself for things that are out of your control."

They continued to express their love and support for the singer,

"No worries, we love you. You’ve got to do what you’ve got to do and when the time comes we’ll be here cheering you on!"

According to Entertainment Weekly, Adele also left a personal message for her fans in lipstick on the glass door of her merchandise store. The singer wrote,

"Hi guys! I'm so upset to not be with you tonight, but I know some of you are here already so please hang out and look at the outfits, take pics of anything you want. Of yourselves and with each other! There's people in the room I worked with on the store and the merch. There's members of my management in here too to show you around. And any of you in here who were due to come to the shows this weekend can have a gift on me! I'm so sorry again."

The residency was originally set to run for a total of 12 weeks from Jan. 21 through April 16, with the singer performing twice a week.

Adele has ensured fans that all of the show dates will be rescheduled and that her team is currently working to do so.
