The 47th season finale of "SNL" marked the end of an era for the legendary sketch comedy show with the departure of some of the show's most recognizable cast members.

Out of the four stars, Bryant and McKinnon have been on the show the longest, both starting their runs in 2012. McKinnon instantly became a fan favorite with her hilarious impersonations, which include Justin Bieber and Hillary Clinton. Like McKinnon, Bryant is also known for her impression chops, most notably for her portrayal of Ted Cruz.

Mooney hit Studio 8H in 2013 and became known for his depictions of "SNL" behind the scenes. Davidson came on to the series in 2014 and is now one of the biggest names to come out of the show.

In the season finale skits, the stars expressed their love for the show.

"Well, Earth. I love you. Thanks for letting me stay awhile," McKinnon said at the end of the "Close Encounter" sketch.

" I appreciate 'SNL' for always having my back and allowing me to work on myself and grow. And thank you to Lorne for never giving up on me or judging me even when everyone else was, and for believing in me, and allowing me to have a place that I could call home."
