Alec Baldwin Says He's "Overjoyed" At Losing His Trump Gig At 'SNL'

It's been 4 years in the making.

Four years ago, Alec Baldwin took on the infamous role of Donald Trump on SNL, with his first gig being the 2016 presidential debate with Trump and Hillary Clinton. Now, as Joe Biden takes on the role as the new President of the United States, it's time for Baldwin to retire his character - and he's not mad about it.

Baldwin wrote on Twitter Saturday that he was actually "overjoyed" to leaving his Donald Trump character in the past. His last segment was in this past weekend's episode called 'Biden Victory Cold Open.' The presidential election was called just hours before the taping of the show.
