Alec Baldwin "Could Not Care Less" if You Disagree With His Woody Allen Interview

Alec Baldwin "Could Not Care Less" if You Disagree With His Woody Allen Interview

Today, June 28, Alec Baldwin will be interviewing director Woody Allen over Instagram Live.

Baldwin, age 64, announced the interview over Instagram Sunday, prefacing the post with his support of the controversial 86-year-old director.

"Let me preface this by stating that I have ZERO INTEREST in anyone's judgments and sanctimonious posts here. I am OBVIOUSLY someone who has my own set of beliefs and COULD NOT CARE LESS about anyone else's speculation. If you believe that a trial should be conducted by way of an HBO documentary, that's your issue," Baldwin wrote.

The caption was in reference to the 2021 HBO documentary "Allen v. Farrow" that explored the allegation of sexual abuse made against Allen in 1992 by his adopted daughter Dylan Farrow. Farrow was seven years old when assault allegedly occurred.

While news of the scandal has been circulating for 30 years, it didn't affect Allen's career and reputation until the #metoo movement took the world by storm. Now in 2022, the "Annie Hall" director has seemingly become a leper in Hollywood. Amazon Studios recently canceled their $68 million four-movie deal with the director, while at the same time, Allen's recent movies have struggled to gain distribution.

The comments to the Instagram post speak volumes about the public's perception of Allen, with many commenters criticizing Baldwin's decision to interview the director.

“I’ve supported u 100% thru everything. But woody Allen? Bye,” one commenter wrote.

The interview also comes in the midst of "The Departed" actor's own scandal sprouting from the fatal shooting on the set of "Rust" in October 2021; A live round was discharged from a revolver used as a prop by Baldwin. The incident resulted in the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and the injury of director Joel Souza. The actor is now in the middle of multiple lawsuits surrounding the incident.
