Who blew us away in 2020?

Music saw a major number of collaborations between top artists in the industry, breaking records and debuting chart-topping songs and albums. Let's take a look back at some of the most popular collabs of the year.


"Rain On Me" - Lady Gaga x Ariana Grande

How could we not put the 2020 Gaga-Grande anthem at the top of this list? The song that premiered on May 22nd received a nod for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance at the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards this January. "Rain On Me" stormed the top of the charts following its release, with Ariana Grande breaking the record as the only artist to debut four songs at number one. Lady Gaga has now attained singles at the top of the charts in three different decades.

"Holy" - Justin Bieber x Chance the Rapper

It's impossible to turn on the radio without hearing Justin Bieber and Chance the Rapper's single "Holy." Bieber has sung this hit at many award shows, even winning a 2020 AMA for Favorite Pop/Rock Male Artist.

"Stuck with U" - Ariana Grande x Justin Bieber

We all know the song that helped shake our quarantine blues away. This adorable music video with amazing vocals gave us some much needed positivity at the beginning of the pandemic. Watch people from around the world come together with their loved ones to dance along to this happy hit.

"Rockstar" - DaBaby x Roddy Ricch

"Rockstar" has killed the game in 2020, earning three Grammy nominations for Record of the Year, Best Melodic Rap Performance and Best Rap Song.

"10,000 Hours" - Dan + Shay x Justin Bieber

"10,000 Hours" started out with only country duo Dan + Shay on the track, but then Bieber later joined the award-winning song. The hit earned an iHeartRadio Music Award for Best Lyrics, two AMAs for Collaboration of the Year and Favorite Country Song, as well as a Billboard Music Award for Top Country Song. The singers are also up for a Grammy nomination for Best Country Duo/Group Performance.

"Life Is Good" - Future x Drake 

Future's music video "Life Is Good," featuring Drake, currently has 1.3 billion views on YouTube, a testament to the iconic collaboration that blessed the hip-hop and rap community during 2020.

"Say So" - Doja Cat x Nicki Minaj

"Say So" earned two Grammy nods for Record of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance. The lead vocalist on the track, Doja Cat, earned six awards for her popular track at various prestigious award shows: Best Song of the Summer, Best Direction, Favorite Music Video and Song of the Year at the VMAs, along with Video of the Year at the BET Awards and NRJ Music Awards.

"Savage" - Megan Thee Stallion x Beyoncé

If you are a fan of the popular social media app TikTok, you know this song and dance by heart. Millions of people danced along to Megan Thee Stallion's trending song "Savage" on the app during this year. This hype song has scored many awards, with both Thee Stallion and Beyoncé taking home some coveted trophies. The duo won BET's Hip Hop Award for Best Collaboration, Beyoncé earned Best Feature Verse at BET's Hip Hop Award for Sweet 16, and the main singer on the track earned a VMA for Best Hip-Hop Video.

"WAP" - Cardi B x Megan Thee Stallion

Megan Thee Stallion's success did not end with "Savage." The artist also teamed up with famous female rapper Cardi B for their popular track "WAP," a song that recently has been a hit on TikTok as well. In its first week alone, it racked up over 93 million streams and debuted at number one, making Cardi B the female rapper with the most chart-topping songs. The duo took home a People's Choice Award for Favorite Collaboration of the Year, as well as an AMA for Favorite Hip-Hop/Rap Song.

"Night Crawling" - Miley Cyrus x Billy Idol

Miley Cyrus' recently debuted her seventh full-length studio album Plastic Hearts on November 27th with legendary musician Billy Idol a feature on the track.

"Levitating" - Dua Lipa x DaBaby

Dua Lipa was on fire during 2020 with her chart-topping album Future Nostalgia, featuring her "Levitating" collaboration with DaBaby up for Album of the Year at the Grammys.

"I'm Ready" - Sam Smith x Demi Lovato

Vocals top-notched singers? We think so! Demi Lovato and Sam Smith sang the vocally-charged "I'm Ready" with lots of amazing runs and notes higher than the sky released on April 16. Feels so long ago, right? Take a trip down memory lane and watch their powerful music video.

"That's It" - Future x Lil Uzi Vert

Future and Lil Uzi Vert not only collaborated on a song together, but an entire studio album. Although their album release was more recent, premiering on November 12th, it made its mark in the music industry and is considered among the top collaborations this year.

"Go Crazy" - Chris Brown x Young Thug

At the BET Awards, Chris Brown won huge, earning Best R&B/Soul Male Artist along with three awards for his collaboration with Young Thug. The pair added three trophies to their collections for Song of the Year, Best Collaboration and Best Dance Performance. This energetic, upbeat song can be played when you are dancing to your room by yourself as a way to pass time during quarantine.

"I Hope" - Gabby Barrett x Charlie Puth

Gabby Barrett's "I Hope" certainly has powerful lyrics, wishing her ex a great relationship with his new lover, then hoping:

"she cheats, like you did on me."

The American Idol second runner-up has earned her place in country music and teamed up with the talented Charlie Puth on her award-winning hit.

"Baby I'm Jealous" - Bebe Rexha x Doja Cat

Finally, this list would not be complete without Bebe Rexha and Doja Cat's hit song "Baby I'm Jealous." The entertaining music video has an important message for anyone who has a partner that's exploring other relationships.

"He got freedom to chase what he likes...But he ain't even worth none of your time."
