Emmy season is here, and it is the time where everyone is at the edge of their seat waiting to see if their favorite show(s) got nominated for an award.

  • The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (20 nominations)
  • Succession/Ozark (both tied with 18 nominations)
  • Netflix (160 nominations)
  • NBC (47 nominations)
  • RuPaul's Drag Race (10 nominations)
  • Saturday Night Live (15 nominations)
  • The Mandalorian (15 nominations)

We LOVE a good surprise - so here are some Emmy nomination surprises that made the crowd and The Los Angeles Times jump for joy:

  • Zendaya: Best Lead Actress (drama)
  • The Mandalorian: Best Drama Series
  • Insecure: Best Comedy Series
  • Shira Haas, Unorthodox: Best Lead Actress (limited series/TV movie)
  • The dynamic duo of Black-ish stars Anthony Anderson and Tracee Ellis Ross: Best Lead Actor in a Comedy and Best Lead Actress in a Comedy, respectively

Big Snubs

The Emmys is simply not the Emmys with a few snubs in between - especially with 2020 being a very competitive year, according to the Los Angeles Times.
