Morgan Wallen might be a Billboard Music Awards Finalist, but he is not allowed to be in attendance at the show.


After recent racism allegations, Wallen has been instructed not to attend the show as "His recent conduct does not align with our core values," Dick Clark Productions, Producers of Billboard Music Awards says in a statement.

Although, for the past year Wallen has been No. 1 on Billboard' chart Top County Albums for 12 weeks as well as 10 weeks on top of the all-genre Billboard 200 chart for his second studio album, Dangerous: The Double Album. He will be a finalist in six categories at the BBMA's.

The Billboard Music Awards will not showcase Morgan Wallen and his top hit songs. Due to the Allegations of an incident on Jan. 31 where Wallen had used the N-word in a video entering his home in Nashville. The incident was posted to social media on Feb. 2 by TMZ.

Wallen had posted an apology video on Feb. 10 where he had said his side and asked his fans not to defend him for his actions.

"Unique among awards shows, Billboard Music Awards (BBMA) finalists are determined by performance on the Billboard charts, and are not chosen by a voting committee or membership organization. BBMA finalists and winners are based on key fan interactions with music (including album and digital song sales, streaming, radio airplay, social engagement), tracked by Billboard and its data partners, including MRC Data," Dick Clark Productions says.

He continued saying, "Morgan Wallen is a finalist this year based on charting. As his recent conduct does not align with our core values, we will not be including him on the show in any capacity (performing, presenting, accepting)."

The 2021 BBMA's this year is going to be a big one as it includes 51 categories that involve special awards. The show is based of music that landed on the charts from March 21, 2020 through April 3, 2021.

It will air on Sunday, May 23 at 8 p.m. ET on NBC from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.
