'RHOC' Braunwyn Windham-Burke Talks Battling Addiction While Filming

Braunwyn Windham-Burke addresses her journey to sobriety on #RHOC.

The Real Housewives of Orange County's Braunwyn Windham-Burke joined the show last season, at the start of season 14. Things got serious for the Orange County mom of seven, as she addresses her battle with alcohol addiction in the show's current season 15.

Opening Up In Front Of The Cameras

While chatting with Advocate Channel, Braunwyn explains how at first, she was worried that speaking about her journey to sobriety would become harder when talking to cameras:

"This story is so real and raw to me that I definitely had a moment of...
'Oh no, did I just open myself up? Is this gonna hurt more than I can handle?'
...Cause I really do say here's everything, good and bad."

Sharing An Inspiring Message

When Braunwyn Windham-Burke made the tough decision to show her battle on RHOC, she wanted to make sure that she was able to send a positive message to people also struggling. She wanted to keep it real, explaining:

"When we decided to do this, it was like ok... if we do this, let's do it for real, because getting sober is very hard and I can say now, almost nine months later, I'm having the best time of my life.
Being sober is amazing and that's what I hope people take away from this. You don't need to drink to have a good time."

Capturing Some Low Points Last Season

She talks about how looking back on the show, her behavior was more reckless. Braunwyn has made some positive changes for herself:

"We've seen some previews where I'm throwing things. I was insane, I was definitely losing my mind."

She also tells us about her newfound confidence and how she doesn't feel as though she needs to get everyone to like her:

"You know, my first season I was so concerned with having everyone like me and this season I'm like, I don't care if you like me. This is who I am, this is what I feel. Shut up or get out of the way!"

Braunwyn has made some strides since RHOC season 14 and we will continue to watch her change for the better in season 15, Wednesday nights on Bravo.
