Project Sing Out

Watch your favorite Broadway stars perform and support art education!

Project Sing Out is a one-night-only virtual benefit concert airing on July 20th, executive produced by Once on this Island lead and Tony nominee Hailey Kilgore.

Kilgore has gathered an impressive group of celebrities to sing, perform, and appear virtually at the event. These include Chita Rivera, Don Cheadle, Audra McDonald, LaChanze, Ali Stroker, Javier Muñoz, Jordan Fisher, Jenna Ushkowitz, among many others.

All proceeds from the event will go to the Educational Theatre Foundation, which supports education in the arts in schools. According to their website, the foundation's mission is:

"Shaping lives through theatre education by: honoring student achievement in theatre and enriching their theatre education experience; supporting teachers by providing professional development, networking opportunities, resources, and recognition; and influencing public opinion that theatre education is essential and builds life skills."

Kilgore spoke with Playbill about the necessity of supporting theatre education in schools:

"We have talked about the effects of COVID-19 on Broadway, my thoughts have also been with the students who will be the future of Broadway. We need to ensure that young artists don't lose their safe, creative spaces at school. was one of those kids, as were countless artists in the industry, and it is our responsibility as the Broadway community to raise up the next generation of designers, directors, stage managers, choreographers and artists as they are the future of Broadway. Not only for Broadway, but future teachers, doctors, business owners and more. This is ensuring a bright future for our leaders of tomorrow."

Kilgore took to Twitter to share news of the exciting event!

The virtual benefit will be streaming live on July 20th at 7 p.m. EST exclusively on Playbill's YouTube channel and Facebook page. Be sure to tune in!
