Camila Cabello recently shared what inspired her to go on "X Factor," and it's probably not what you think.

The singer opened up to James Corden in an episode of "Carpool Karaoke," where she revealed the reason she initially auditioned for "The X factor" was because she was hoping Harry Styles would fall in love with her. Cabello shared,

"I was like, ‘Well, One Direction will be at 'X Factor,' I don't know if they'll be at 'The Voice,' so let me audition for 'X Factor.' Literally, this is really embarrassing, and I can only say this because obviously that was like, ten years ago, but I literally was like, ‘I'm auditioning for 'X Factor' because I will marry Harry Styles. Like, I will.' I really believed that at the time."

While the two seemingly did not fall in love, Cabello's life did change forever. After being told by producers she couldn't audition, Simon Cowell found her crying backstage during a cigarette break, and offered her the chance to perform in front of him and the other judges.

That audition landed her and four other women in the group Fifth Harmony. They went on to sign with a major record label and create several hits, including "Work From Home" and "Worth It."

Cabello left the group in 2016 to focus on her solo career, leading to 2018 when her single "Havana" became the best-selling single of the year.

Thank you, Harry Styles!
