Country star Travis Tritt, who has sold millions of albums and was part of the country music resurgence in the 1990s, chatted with our Sonia Isabelle about his first new album in years.
The New Album: 'Set In Stone'
Tritt released his new single "Smoking A Bar," and fans can finally enjoy once again the singer's unmistakable voice. Isabelle asked why he waited for fourteen years before releasing new music. Tritt said:
"It wasn't because I was lazy. I made a conscious choice about 13 years ago that I wanted to focus on the live performance part of what I do."
But two years ago, things started shifting for Tritt:
"I hired a new manager and he started talking to me: 'you've had a great career but I still think you've got a lot of great music left in you."
Isabelle then asked if Tritt would describe this album as "classic outlaw Travis music." And Tritt replied:
"That's the only way I know how to describe it. It's going to be a Travis Tritt album."
And not performing live has been very difficult for Tritt:
"I've been like a caged animal. As soon as you're gonna open that cage up, we're gonna run."

Elon can't promise us just how good he'll be at his Saturday night hosting gig, but he can promise us that he is a 'wild-card.'
The engineer will be hosting the May 8 episode of Saturday Night Live alongside Miley Cyrus as musical guest.
SNL released a promo video on Thursday featuring the two guests and cast member Cecily Strong where he promised to be "good-ish" on Saturday night. Musk says:
"I'm a wildcard, so there's no telling what I might do."
Miley, always the rebel, adds:
"Same here! Rules? No thanks."
This comes after some cryptic tweets Elon made about his appearance. Last month, the CEO tweeted following the hosting announcement:
"Let's find out just how live Saturday Night Live really is,"
He once again garnered internet attention earlier this week when he was spitballing skit ideas for the show:

In between all of his work for the show, Musk also successfully launched SpaceX's Starship SN15 on Wednesday. He kept his Twitter up to date about its takeoff and landing.
