One-On-One: Corbin Bernsen Chats 'L.A. Law' Reboot & Special Memory With Jeanne Cooper | CPTV

Actor Corbin Bernsen is well known for his television roles like in L.A. Law and Psych. Now, our own Sonia Isabelle is sitting down with the star to discuss his new role in the film When We Last Spoke.

Bernsen is joined by his co-star Melissa Gilbert as a husband, father, grandfather and son that finds himself navigating through life with three generations of women in one household.

The film, adapted from the novel under the same name by Marci Henna, takes place in 1967. It is a story of two young sisters who are abandoned and must go to live with their grandparents in a small town in Georgia. Enter Bernsen's character, Walsh.

"You sometimes play a character and you go, 'I wanna be more like him. [He] is just a stand-up, good guy in the middle of all of it. He thought he had it all made. He thought he and his wife Ruby were gonna have the rest of their lives to do what they want, and then come these two young girls he's gotta take care of," Bernsen said.

Among other castmembers is the late and great Cloris Leachman, who sadly passed away in January of this year.

"She reminded me a lot of my mom, God bless her. She was on 'The Young and the Restless,' my mom, for 45 years. One of the great last of the old dames, you know?"

Bernsen's late mother, Jeanne Cooper, was number eight on the list of all-time longest active soap opera actors in the United States at the time of her death in 2013. She won a Daytime Emmy in 2008, a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2004, and received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1993.

Bernsen got misty-eyed as he showed his late mother's Lifetime Achievement Award.

"I just wanted to share that. I haven't shared that with anybody," he sweetly revealed.

Corbin also went on to share that he will be part of the returning cast of the L.A. Law reboot. For more on that, click here.

When We Last Spoke debut on Sunday, April 4th, on UPtv.
