This year, HBO's Succession leads with eight nomination, including Best Drama Series, Best Actor in a Drama Series (both Brian Cox and Jeremy Strong), Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series (Nicholas Braun, Kieran Culkin and Matthew Macfadyen) and Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series (J. Paramount+ Evil also earned five nominations, including Best Drama Series, Best Actor in a Drama Series (Mike Colter), Best Actress in a Drama Series (Katja Herbers) and Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series (Andrea Martin and Christine Lahti).

Other shows that earned four nominations each are the following: Hulu's Only Murders In The Building, Apple TV+ Ted Lasso, Paramount+ The Good Fight, NBC's This Is Us and Disney+ WandaVision.

Critics Choice Association TV Branch president Ed Martin stated that despite the current pandemic, it has been a great year for television.

"Although the industry is still recovering from the COVID-19 lockdown, you wouldn’t know it from the wealth of amazing television programs our nomination committees pored through to come up with this year’s nominees," he said.

Film category nominations will be announced on December 13th and the Critics Choice Awards will air live on Sunday, January 9th 2022 from 7pm to 10pm ET on The CW and TBS.
