So much has changed in the fictional town of Salem, over the past 30 years to be exact, and the original cast of Days Of Our Lives has now ventured out into new territory with drama effortlessly surrounding them.
NBC announced on Monday they will release a five episode limited series called Days of Our Lives: Beyond Salem, for its streaming service Peacock bringing current and past stars together of the long-running beloved daytime phenomenon.
Past residents of the town to star in the spinoff include Lisa Rinna as Billie Reid, Deidre Hall as Dr. Marlene Evans, Drake Hogestyn as John Black, Jackèe Harry as Paulina Price, James Reynolds as Abe Carver, Victoria Konefal as Ciara Brady, Billy Flynn as Chad MiMera, Robert Scott Wilson as Ben Weston, Sal Stowers as Lani Price, and Lamon Archery as Eli Grant.
An official press release from Peacock gave fans a glimpse of what to expect as far as the plot goes on the series: "Over a long weekend, John and Marlena travel to Zurich; Ben and Ciara have a romantic getaway in New Orleans; Chad visits some old friends in Phoenix; and Abe, Paulina, Lani, and Eli vacation in Miami. All find themselves embroiled in a mystery involving stolen jewels which, in the wrong hands, could cause dire consequences for Salem. It's a race against time for ISA agent Billie Reed as she crosses the globe in search of this missing treasure."
Rinna's return to the series has not gone unnoticed by fans. The business mogul/reality star traded her role as Billie on the daytime soap to star as a cast member on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Rinna originated the role in 1992 for a run of three years before returning again in 2002 for a short-term stint. She again reprised the role in 2012 and 2018. The reality star took to Instagram to announce her long-awaited return to her fans:

There is no official release date yet on the spin-off series, but fans can keep up with Days Of Our Lives weekdays on NBC which has been renewed through September 2023.
