Dennis Quaid teases a reunion of the 1987 Joe Dante film

Imagine, an Innerspace reunion! Dennis Quaid teased fans during a recent interview.

In an interview with Variety, Quaid teased the idea of a reunion of the science-fiction comedy Innerspace. Quaid stated:

"There may be a version of Innerspacereunion coming your way soon. I can't give it away."

While Quaid couldn't provide any juicy details, audiences would love a reunion or at least a sequel. The 1987 film follows test pilot Lt. Tuck Pendleton (Quaid) who is miniaturized for a secret experiment and accidentally injected into a store clerk's body, Jack Putter (Martin Short).

The film was directed by Joe Dante who also directed the 1984 film Gremlins. Quaid starred in the film with an all-star cast including Martin Short, Meg Ryan, Kevin McCarthy, Fiona Lewis, Wendy Schaal, and Robert Picardo. The earned an Academy Award back in 1988 for 'Best Visual Effects' and grossed $42 million at the worldwide box office during its theatrical rental.

Aside from Innerspace, Quaid stated he was down for a sequel to The Parent Trap.

Quaid recently got together with the co-stars of the iconic film for a reunion with Katie Couric for awareness and funds for the José Andrés' non-profit organization World Central Kitchen.

Whatever project Quaid plans to work on next, we'll be watching!
