Jeff Kinney Shares Special Message For 'Diary Of A Wimpy Kid' Fans

No matter what... don't touch the cheese.

The awkward phase in middle school may be some of the cringiest relatable content out there.

Author of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series, Jeff Kinney, has turned those strange years into a massive success with families reading the books all around the world.

The classic story of Diary of a Wimpy Kid is now back on our screens, but this time, as an animated film.

"I like this idea that the story of middle school dread and a best friendship and piece of cheese on the blacktop... that those are really timeless, sort of existential stories," Kinney said.

But Jeff isn’t slowing down! The author is now releasing his 16th book from the hit series, Big Shot.

"I never thought that 'Diary of a Wimpy Kid' would get published, so everything past the point of publication, for me, has been like 'The Truman Show.' I'm just now, for the first time ever, meeting people who read my books as kids and now are stepping into their adult careers. Some kids have come from reading my books and they're becoming creators and content creators on their own."

Big Shot is available now and you can stream Diary of a Wimpy Kid on Disney+.
