The lovely Drew Barrymore has had an almost lifelong acting career, landed a talk show of her own, The Drew Barrymore Show, has her own beauty brand FLOWER beauty, and a line of kitchenware at Walmart. Just when we thought she'd done it all, she is now taking on her own magazine: DREW.
The 46-year-old actress turned entrepreneur is joining forces with publishing company Bauer Media USA to bring the quarterly publication to fruition. The magazine's bright yellow site features a quote from Barrymore that reads "Welcome to our sunny little magazine. This is my way of sharing all the best from me to you."
Barrymore shared that having a magazine of her own has been a lifelong dream come true. "For as long as I can remember, I dreamed about creating my own magazine and the partnership with Bauer Media makes it all a reality," she said in a statement. "Each issue will be filled with my favorite tips, fun recipes and great ideas. This has truly been a labor of love and I can't wait for everyone to see what we have in store!"
She also took to Women's Wear Daily to share her unbridled enthusiasm for this new endeavor, and where her passion for it started. "Magazines are such a huge part of my life and they're such a huge part of my inspiration for everything I do," she told WWD. "I've lined my walls with magazine tear sheets since I was like 10 years old. I have a picture of myself in my bedroom and it's like floor to ceiling and wall to wall. I've always loved magazines because of the paper and the experience."
The magazine's site also informs readers that the "feel-good publication" will be "devoted to beauty, love, and fun." It continues on to say, "From life and style to travel and food, we seek out the personalities, places, products, and ideas that shine. We share tips, tricks, and how-to's from people in the know."
Each issue will feature a "Dear Drew" column, allowing fans to engage with Drew herself, a "Drews News" section, featuring feel-good stories, and a "Beauty and Style" section that will include all of Drew's product picks and what's trending now, among other categories like "Food and Cooking" and "Fantastic Finds".
The 'zine will be exclusively available for pre-sale at Walmart stores on June 14 for seven days, then officially hit shelves on June 21st of this year!
