As a fundraiser for the Georgie Democratic Party, the cast of the Christmas comedy Elf reunited virtually for a table read! The event took place over the weekend and is still available to view upon a donation.

Will Ferrell, Zooey Deschanel, Bob Newhart, Ed Asner, Mary Steenburger, Andy Richter, and Amy Sedaris all came together spreading Christmas cheer for a cause. The Georgia Democratic party hosted the cast for a table read of the film for a campaign fundraiser.

Seventeen years have passed since Buddy the elf first ventured out of the north pole and into our hearts. Since then, the comedy starring Ferrel has been a holiday staple.

In the clip shared to twitter, Deschanel and Ferrell sang 'Baby It's Cold Outside', recreating the iconic shower scene from the film. You may recall Buddy's lack of personal space as he listened to Zooey's character just outside the shower.

Another iconic song from the script, 'Santa Clause Is Coming To Town' went absent from the livestream as organizers for the event were denied rights to the song. The cast joked that the republican party already had filed for the rights, and chose instead to sing 'jingle bells'.

From beginning to end, the table read was filled with laughs and old stories from filming on set!
