It was not an easy journey for Elliot Page to reveal and embrace his truest self, but he couldn't be happier with where he is than right now.
Page's First Interview Since Public Statement
Page revealed that he was expecting the various reactions he had received after revealing that he is transgender, but not the abundant amount of light that was put on him. With the attention he has received, Page aims to fight for trans rights and equality for all.
Page expresses to Time Magazine how he felt revealing he's transgender,
"I was finally able to embrace being transgender and letting myself fully become who I am."
Former Love Life
The Juno (2007) star previously came out as gay in 2014, marrying Canadian dancer Emma Portner in 2018. As Page revealed he was transgender to the public masses in 2020, Portner gave her full support via social media. Unfortunately, the couple got divorced in early 2021, but Page tells Time that the two remain very close.
Revealing He's Trans
Revealing he was trans in 2020 was on the surface terrifying, but in actuality very liberating for the actor. Page reveals he was inspired by trans Hollywood trailblazers, such as Laverne Cox to embrace his truth.
A Complicated Journey
"It's a complicated journey and an ongoing process."
