Emily Blunt on the Power of Mary Poppins

Decades after the original film, Emily Blunt is bringing back Mary Poppins in the Disney sequel, Mary Poppins Returns!

We caught up with the cast at the Los Angeles premiere to hear their thoughts on the fantastical continuation.

"She is so iconic and she means so much to so many people and so I really wanted to honor that and yet write my own version of her..." - Emily Blunt

Hamilton star Lin Manuel Miranda stars alongside Blunt in the upcoming movie and only had raving admiration for her portrayal of the magical nanny.

"From the second she stepped on set, she was Mary Poppins." - Lin Manuel Miranda

From a spoon full of medicine to self-discovery, Mary Poppins brings it all.

"I didn't realize how much I needed her to come back until I saw her coming out of the skies." - Emily Blunt

Dick Van Dyke will also be featured in the film, but rather than reprise his role, he will be playing one of his original character's sons.

"It doesn't seem real. I'm having a hard time accepting the fact that this is really happening." - Dick Van Dyke

Mary Poppins Returns flies into theaters December 19th!
