For more than 25 years, Nick Carter has been one-fifth of the Backstreet Boys! Now Carter is creating an upcoming solo album while on hiatus from touring with the group.

Nick Carter sat down with Celebrity Page correspondent Rachel Smith to reveal new details about the exciting project!

Before the first surge of the pandemic, the Backstreet Boys had been back on tour serenading fans. COVID-19 put their shows on a temporary delay, but Carter is using the hiatus to strum up new tunes. He told us his solo album will be a gift for the fans:

"We can't go on the road, we can't tour, we can't perform which is some of the stuff that we love to do. That's what we live for- is entertaining. So that's why I wanted to do a music solo record because it'll keep our fans happy."

While fans will have to wait until next year to see their favorite boy band back on the stage, they could still get a standing ovation worthy Christmas present.

"I'd like to actually get something out as soon as possible...at least a single. Maybe within the next like month or so. I"m planning- I guess I can pretty much announce it, I'm planning I'm trying to release something this Christmas."

A new solo album isn't the only thing keeping the singer busy. Carter is also a full time dad to his two kids.

"You know, it's just a lot of for me rolling around on the carpet with my kids. I'm cooking, I'm cleaning, I'm putting them down for naps. I'm just a hundred percent dad mode right now."

It was in part due to his kids that Carter also works so hard to give back however he can. He also works closely with the Cure 4 The Kids Foundation which helps families support their children as they face cancer treatments.

"Being a father and having kids I can't imagine, you know, being in that place where parents are where they don't know where to go or where to turn in a time of need. Especially like that. I'm happy to be able to be a part of this charity."

For this rockstar on stage, at home, and in his community...we can't wait to see what the new album brings!
