Comedian and actor Gilbert Gottfried has passed away at 67 years old, after suffering a long illness.
His family broke the news Tuesday on Twitter, sharing,
"We are heartbroken to announce the passing of our beloved Gilbert Gottfried after a long illness. In addition to being the most iconic voice in comedy, Gilbert was a wonderful husband, brother, friend and father to his two young children. Although today is a sad day for all of us, please keep laughing as loud as possible in Gilbert's honor."
According to a statement made by his publicist and friend Glenn Schwartz to the Associated Press, Gottfried died from recurrent ventricular tachycardia due to myotonic dystrophy type II, a disorder that affects the heart.
Gottfried might be best known for his distinctly memorable voice as Iago in Disney's Aladdin, but the beloved actor took on a variety of unique roles that made him a fan-favorite to watch on the screen. Here are some of his most notable roles.
