'Golden Girls' Spin-off 'Golden Palace' Hits Hulu

The spin-off show from 1992 dropped on Hulu on Monday.

As of Monday, January 10th, Hulu released the 1992 spin-off show from The Golden Girls titled The Golden Palace.

All of the 24 episodes were dropped at once, making the show available to binge for anyone with a Hulu subscription.

This is a nostalgic release for fans of The Golden Girls, as icon Betty White had just recently passed away before we entered 2022. The Golden Palace didn't have the best reviews when it was first released, but it seems Golden Girls fans are much more drawn to watching the show now after White's passing.

The spin-off shares the same iconic and catchy theme song as the original show (Thank You For Being A Friend by Andrew Gold), and the three of the four original main characters-- Rose Nylund (Betty White), Sophia Petrillo (Estelle Getty), and Blanche Devereaux (Rue McClanahan).

With Dorothy Zbornak (Bea Arthur) having married in the Golden Girls finale, the spin-off centers around Rose, Sophia, and Blanche buying and moving into a new hotel on South Beach. The entire plot line is centered around their struggles with managing and living in the hotel.

The Golden Palace is supposed to take place immediately following the conclusion of The Golden Girls series finale.

The official "Golden Girls" instagram page recently posted this major #tbt from the original show!
