Grammy-winning country singer Naomi Judd has passed away at 76 years old.

Her daughters, Ashley and Wynonna Judd, announced the news of her death on Saturday.

“Today we sisters experienced a tragedy. We lost our beautiful mother to the disease of mental illness,” the statement reads. “We are shattered. We are navigating profound grief and know that as we loved her, she was loved by her public. We are in unknown territory.”

Judd’s publicist shared that the star's husband of 32 years, Larry Strickland, would "not be making any further statements."

They added,

"Naomi Judd’s family request privacy during this heartbreaking time. No additional information will be released at this time."

The news comes just one day before Naomi and Wynonna, known as 'The Judds' on stage, were to be formally inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame at a medallion ceremony in Nashville. The singing duo had also recently announced their final tour, which was set to begin in the Fall.

The Judds had 19 No.1 singles and won five Grammys throughout their career.
