Haley had a music-fueled upbringing as the daughter of country artist and hit songwriter Phil Vassar, but just because she has a country pedigree doesn't mean she has to be country artist.
The rising star shot down the assumption that Nashville artists have to write country music, explaining how genres collide in the city and, although she wrote Can't Fall Slow in Nashville, it was produced in New York.
