HBO Max just gifted every Harry Potter fan the best surprise of the holiday season. The very first teaser trailer for the 20th anniversary reunion special was just dropped last night.

Every Harry Potter fan must have nearly passed out after getting the first look into the reunion special on Sunday night. The Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts teased a return back to the set of the first film.

The special is set to honor the first film of the franchise, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, which premiered in 2001. Now, two decades later, the reunion special will hit home screens on January 1st, 2022, which is quite an ideal way to ring in the new year.

In the trailer, Robbie Coltrane, who played Hagrid, and Matthew Lewis, who played Nevil, were shown getting their letters inviting them back to Hogwarts for the reunion. Both Coltrane and Lewis are then shown approaching the 9 3/4 platform where the adventure originally commenced.

The end of the trailer included names of other cast members who will be attending the reunion, including Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and of course, Emma Watson. Over a dozen other cast members were also listed off at the end of the trailer.

The teaser trailer was dropped during Sunday night's episode of Harry Potter: Hogwart's Tournament of Houses, and since then, fans have been off-the-walls trying to contain their excitement until the new year.
