Marvel Gives First Look At New Disney Plus ‘Hawkeye’ Series

Hawkeye

Jeremy Renner and Hailee Steinfeld are featured in Marvel's new first-look at Hawkeye

Marvel fans, rejoice! The iconic superhero franchise just revealed some huge news regarding the upcoming Hawkeyeseries.

First off, the series might be coming to Disney Plus sooner than we thought. The release date was just announced and it looks like Hawkeye will premiere on November 24, 2021.

Marvel teamed up with Entertainment Weekly to share an exclusive first-look at Hawkeye. In the photo, the title character, played by Jeremy Renner meets Kate Bishop, played by Hailee Steinfeld. Hawkeye is obviously a familiar face to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Steinfeld's character however is a newcomer however. So who is the Kate Bishop? Well, she was first introduced in Marvel's comic book series, Young Avengers. In the comics, she takes up the Hawkeye identity, so it seems as though Renner's Clint Barton may exit the MCU at some point in the series. Also, it is worth noting that the main villain of the Young Avengers is Kang The Conqueror who made an appearance in the Loki season finale. Fans suspect that Jonathan Majors's character in the episode was actually Kang The Conqueror and we will see more of him in the upcoming Marvel endeavors; maybe we will even see him in Hawkeye.

Renner has been teasing his collaboration with Steinfeld for several months. For example, one post featured Steinfeld walking a dog, who eagle eyed Marvel fans assumed must be Lucky The Pizza Dog. Now fans finally got to see the duo together in an official post. Other than Steinfeld, Renner's costars include Florence Pugh who will be reprising her Black Widow role as Yelena Belova and Alaqua Cox, a Native American actress who will be making her acting debut as Echo. Echo is one of the few deaf characters in Marvel Comics. Naturally, the deaf community was thrilled to hear that the character will be represented accurately by Cox, who is deaf in real life.

The first episode of Hawkeye is on target to stream on Wednesday November 24th on Disney Plus.
