House Of The Dragon

Dracarys! The Targaryens will enter our homes once again. HBO Max released Game of Thrones' prequel trailer, House of the Dragon, which will air in 2022.

Game of Thrones is a fantasy drama created by David Benioff and D.B.Weiss based on George R.R. Martin's fantasy novels "A Song Of Ice And Fire." The series has been named by many critics as one of the best shows of all time.

The fictional seven kingdoms of Westeros and the continent of Essos have thrilled fans all over the world as the Starks, the Lannisters and the Targaryens initiated a war of succession for the coveted Iron Throne.

Game of Thrones has also won many awards, including 59 Emmys, eight Screen Actors Guild Awards and a Peabody Award.

During the HBO Max Europe launch event, HBO Max released the trailer of the prequel House of the Dragon, which will cover events from 200 years before the fall of the Iron Throne. In the trailer, we can see a glimpse of the Targaryen's dynasty with a voice over that says:

"Dreams didn't make us kings. Dragons did."

Miguel Sapochnik and Ryan Condal are the showrunners of the prequel. Sapochnik has directed several episodes of Game of Thrones, winning an Emmy and DGA Honors for the epic "Battle of the Bastards" episode. In 2019, he was nominated for another Emmy for directing "The Long Night" and finally won Best Drama Series as executive producer for the discussed and criticized eighth and final season.

The cast of House of the Dragon includes Paddy Considine as King Viserys Targaryen, Olivia Cooke as Alicent Hightower, Emma D'Arcy as Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen, Matt Smith as Prince Daemon Targaryen, Steve Toussaint as Lord Corlys, Rhys Ifans as Otto Hightower, Fabien Frankel as Criston Cole and Sonoya Mizuno as Mysaria.

Last April, HBO Max had officially shared via Twitter that the series was in production with the following caption:

"Fire will reign."

Now that the trailer has been released, the anticipation for House of the Dragon grows even more. While you wait for 2022, you can stream all the eight seasons of Game of Thrones on HBO Max.
