Jennifer Lopez on Feeling "Physically Paralyzed" Due to Exhaustion

Jennifer Lopez recently opened up about her former health scares brought on by exhaustion.

The "On the Floor" singer opened up in a newsletter about life in her late twenties, a time when she thought she was "invincible." Lopez described her busy day-to-day life during this time, which consisted of little sleep and constant working.

According to PEOPLE, the actress wrote:

"There was a time in my life where I used to sleep 3 to 5 hours a night. I'd be on set all day and in the studio all night and doing junkets and filming videos on the weekends."

After following this schedule for years, J LO recalls feeling "frozen," saying:

"Now I know it was a classic panic attack brought on by exhaustion, but I had never even heard the term at the time."

The-52-year old thought she was going insane rather than suffering from mental and physical health scares. She recounts how her hospital visit inspired her to make some major lifestyle changes.

"I asked the doctor if I was going crazy. He said, 'No, you're not crazy. You need sleep. Get 7 to 9 hours of sleep per night, don't drink caffeine, and make sure you get your workouts in if you're going to do this much work."

Now, J LO prioritizes sleep, sharing that she has adopted a "pro-living vs anti-aging" approach to life.

"Sometimes I wake up and say, 'Wow! I just lost 10 years off my face!'"
