A representative for Joel Schumacher announced the director passed away today at the age of 80 in New York after battling cancer.


Film fanatics are mourning the loss of Schumacher by remembering his iconic movies, including St. Elmo's Fire, The Lost Boys, Batman Forever and Batman & Robin. Born in 1939, Schumacher always had a love for fashion, which led him to work on films as a costume designer. While working on these movies, he had developed knowledge and a passion for directing. Schumacher's legacy will continue to live on with his movies, inspiring filmmakers across the world.
