In honor of his new movie 7500, let's explore the actor's best performances.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt is one of Hollywood's most dynamic asset - whether he's producing, writing, directing, or acting. Being in the industry for three decades, he's been part of both high-grossing blockbusters and small independent films alike.

Starting his career at a young age, Gordon-Levitt appeared in such films as Angels in the Outfield and starred in the sitcom 3rd Rock From the Sun. Gordon-Levitt also founded the production company HitRecord and directed his first film back in 2013, Don Jon. This Friday, his new movie 7500 will be hitting Amazon Prime. In honor of his new film, let's take a look back on some of his best performances.

50/50

Gordon-Levitt is a talented actor who easily transitions between comedy and drama. The film 50/50 was inspired by a true story, focusing on a 27-year-old man who finds out he has cancer.

The emotional and heart-warming film looks at the portrayal of cancer in a realistic way. Gordon-Levitt and the supporting cast are flawless. In 2012, he was nominated for a Golden Globe for his challenging and incredible performance.

500 Days of Summer

This film isn't your typical Hollywood romantic comedy. Gordon-Levitt hasn't been in many romantic comedies. However, in 500 Days of Summer this film follows a young man who falls in love with a woman who does not believe true love exists.

Director Marc Webb's masterpiece is able to show the relatable hardships of the good and bad times of a relationship. This truly is the only love story you ever need to see about finding "the one." Gordon-Levitt is exceptional in the film, but when Zooey Deschanel and Gordon-Levitt are together, they have impeccable chemistry. Back in 2010, the film was nominated for two Golden Globes: Best Motion Picture - Comedy or Musical and Gordon-Levitt was nominated for his performance.

Brick

Rian Johnson made his directorial feature debut with the independent film Brick in 2005. The film follows Gordon-Levitt as Brendan investigating the mysterious disappearance of his ex-girlfriend involving a high school crime ring.

This drama is a noir thriller and tells a unique story. Critics have debated that this was Gordon-Levitt's breakout role. The high school loner's performance is absolutely engaging and sincere in dealing with a complex matter. Brick is a fan's dream come true.

The Walk

From legendary director Robert Zemeckis, Gordon-Levitt stars as Philippe Petit, a French high-wire artist who in 1974 who walked between the two World Trade Center towers in New York City.

The Walk is truly inspiring for big dreamers. Gordon-Levitt is charismatic and full of passion as his character tries to achieve his goals. As for the twin towers, they were recreated perfectly with the help of CGI. It's not hard to admire the breathtaking and beautiful cinematography by Dariusz Wolski.

Looper

In Looper, Gordon-Levitt stars as Joe, a hitman who is assigned with killing the older version of himself (played by Bruce Willis) but was sent back in time to be killed.

The film is original and complex in terms of its story. Gordon-Levitt and Willis are both unbelievable and the film is worth the watch. The film is impressive with its twists and turns, and it is impossible to look away from the intense moments. Personally, I believe it is one of the best sci-fi films.
