Kanye West has been working on his Yeezy line since 2007. Now, there is speculation that we are getting a Yeezy cosmetics line soon. West just filed a new Yeezy trademark with the United States Patent and Trademark Office on June 2nd.
From Coats to Concealers
The trademark includes products such as lotion, toner, face masks, exfoliants, and fragrances, as well as makeup products like lipstick, concealer, mascara, and even hair products like shampoo, conditioner, gel, and dye. And of course, what celebrity wouldn't have their own fragrance!
West has been using intellectual property holding company Mascotte Holdings Inc. for years now. Along with beauty products, West worked with Mascotte to get his "Yeezy" trademark on garments back in 2015.
Joining Kim In The Beauty Community
West's wife Kim Kardashian has been in the cosmetic industry for a few years now with her beauty line KKW Beauty and KKW Fragrance. She has found much success in her beauty line, reportedly doubling sales in one year. Sister-in-law Kylie Jenner also has her line Kylie Cosmetics which launched in 2014. In 2019, Jenner sold 51% of the company for $600 million to beauty conglomerate Coty.
Seeing the progress of Kim and Kylie's brands, perhaps we will see Kanye join them in the near future.
