Actress Keira Knightley is set to star in the Hulu'sThe Other Typist. The drama series is based on the novel The Other Typist by Suzanne Rindell. 'The L Word' creator Ilene Chaiken is serving as showrunner and producer.
The project is being developed by Disney's Searchlight Television and 20th Century Fox TV. Previously, Knightley was developing the novel as a feature film.
The Other Typist tells the story of Rose, a typist for the New York Police Department during the Prohibition era. Knightley plays Odalie, the glamorous new co-worker who lures Rose to the shady world of speakeasies. However, when the ultimate crime is committed, it's unknown which of the two women is more treacherous.
This project is Knightley's first major TV project.
