What to Expect From the Frasier Reboot, According to Kelsey Grammer

Paramount

The beloved radio host is making his way back to television screens... and sooner than you might think!

Kelsey Grammer stopped by "The Talk" on Monday and gave anxious "Frasier" fans an update on the progress of the reboot. Grammer didn't share too many details about the upcoming series, but in 2021, the actor revealed to Fox News what's in store for Dr. Frasier Crane.

"He’s going to end up in a different place in the end and he’s going to start what he thinks is one life and it turns into another. I think of him as George Bailey now from ‘It’s a Wonderful Life.’ He’s about to go travel the world."

Grammer continued,

But as a result, he ends up with love and emotional riches, and just a life that is so extraordinary. And I think that’s Frasier’s story."

On "The Talk" the Golden Globe winner also shared that the scriptwriting process was in the "final stages," and after a couple of readings, it brought the actor to tears. Original cast members will return to the show alongside Grammer, like David Hyde Pierce and Jane Leeves. One character of the show will not return, however-- Grammer's on screen father, John Mahoney, who tragically passed in 2018.

With such excitement brewing from both the cast and fans alike, the only question left to answer is when is the reboot finally coming to the small screen? Grammer shared that production is more than likely set to begin this fall.
