Kendall Jenner Launches Tequila Brand

Kendall Jenner is added to the list of celebs who have expanded their horizons to the alcohol business. The model announced the launching of her new tequila brand, 818, on Instagram on Tuesday.

"For almost 4 years I've been on a journey to create the best-tasting tequila," said the star in her Instagram caption.

She even announced that, despite the brand not being launched or announced publicly beforehand, her tequila has already won awards:

"After dozens of blind taste tests, trips to our distillery, entering into world tasting competitions anonymously and WINNING... 3.5 years later I think we've done it!"

According to a source, 818 Tequila had been entered anonymously to competitions, winning the 2020 World's Best Reposado award from the Tequila World Awards.

The tequila was described by judges as:

"An earthy nose which hints at pecan pie, sweet potato and caramel. A sweet and smoky body with some oaky influence, vanilla, and more sweetness on the finish as cinnamon ice cream comes through."

The brand's Anejo picked up a bronze medal award as well.

While this news has just become official, the star has recently been dropping hints on social media. Kendall posted about her recent getaway in Mexico, as well as this photoset from three weeks ago where the "non-existent" tequila is casually pictured in.

818 Tequila is seemingly named after the area code of the Kardashian's hometown, Calabasas.

While we do know that 818 was handcrafted in Tequila, Jalisco in Mexico and that it sounds absolutely delicious, we don't know just when the tequila will be available to the public.

Until then, we are anxiously waiting until we can get our hands on it!
