Michael Jordan to Present Kobe Bryant at Hall of Fame Induction

Michael Jordan to Present Kobe Bryant at Hall of Fame Induction

Kobe Bryant

When Kobe Bryant is inducted into the Hall of Fame later this year, a familiar face will be presenting the late legend as he passes into Naismith: Michael Jordan himself.

Their Connection

Jordan, arguably the greatest player to ever live, was Kobe's basketball idol, and Kobe emulated many of Jordan's moves and philosophies throughout his career. The deep connection between the two was unknown until MJ spoke at Kobe's memorial service in February of last year, describing how he felt like a big brother to Bryant.

The similarities between the two are palpable. Both shooting guards, playing for a team that's now synonymous with their name. An unending drive for success and victory, a vast collection of rings and MVPs, even their turnaround jumper was the same. Kobe, just like the rest of us, wanted to Be Like Mike, but he ended up being someone with a legacy of their own, just as large and impactful as the GOAT himself.

The Ceremony

Jordan will be presenting Bryant, as well as Baylor Women's Coach Kim Mulkey, making him the only person presenting multiple people at this year's induction ceremony.

The event will take place on May 15th, after being pushed back due to the pandemic.

Kobe is far from the only legend getting their time in the sun. This is a ridiculously stacked Hall of Fame class. Alongside Bryant is fellow first ballot inductees Kevin Garnett and Tim Duncan, generational legends in their own right. They will be introduced by Isiah Thomas and David Robinson, respectively.
