Norman fucking Rockwell

Rejoice, Lana Del Rey fans! The singer has just announced release dates for her new book and upcoming music album!

The New Album

According to Entertainment Weekly, Del Rey will read poems from the book accompanied by music.

An Entertainment Weekly report from May 21 focused on how her music promotes the fabrication of abuse. She goes on to defend her music style:

"Now that Doja Cat, Ariana, Camila, Cardi B, Kehlani and Nicki Minaj and Beyoncé have had number ones with songs about being sexy, wearing no clothes, f***ing, cheating etc. — can I please go back to singing about being embodied, feeling beautiful by being in love even if the relationship is not perfect, or dancing for money — or whatever I want — without being crucified [for] saying that I'm glamorizing abuse?????? I'm fed up with female writers and alt singers saying that I glamorize abuse when in reality I'm just a glamorous person singing about the realities of what we are all now seeing are very prevalent emotionally abusive relationships all over the world."

She then goes on to say in a later report to Entertainment Weekly:

"I'm reminded constantly by my friends that, lyrically, there are layers and complicated psychological factors that play into some of my songwriting, but I just want to say the culture's super-sick right now, and the fact that they want to turn my post — my advocacy for fragility — into a race war, it's really bad."

Make sure to look out for Lana Del Rey's new projects during the month of September!
