The comedian joins Amber Ruffin on the platform as both have comedy news shows streaming on NBCUniversal's Peacock.

Many know Larry Wilmore from The Daily Show With Trevor Noah, The Nightly Show With Larry Wilmore or as the creator of The Bernie Mac Show. Now, he'll fill a similar role hosting a new weekly show on Peacock.

Introducing Larry Wilmore and much more

With 2020 arguably being the worst year in history, comedians thrive on this type of content for a topical series. The untitled show starring Wilmore will show conversations with prominent figures such as athletes, politicians and entertainers. The episodes will cover the election as well as important topics of the week presented in a humorous and candid manner. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Larry Wilmore said in a statement:

"I'm honored to have the chance to not only be back on television but to partner with the great team at Peacock. Apparently there's a lot going on in the world right now and a big election happening soon, so I'm happy to have a place in the conversation."

Peacock has ordered 11 episodes of Wilmore's show which is set to premiere in September.
