Lauren Alaina has come a long way since her American Idol days. Now, she's one of the dominating forces in country music today.
Her third album, Sitting Pretty On Top of the World, officially drops today and the star is getting candid on the obstacles leading up to her latest work.
During the COVID-19 lockdown, Lauren took a step back to center herself and write from the heart.
"The album really feels like a celebration of overcoming all of the things that I have been through. The pandemic hit, and honestly I think it was a time of true healing for me because I was able to process everything that I've been through over the last ten years. I got to write the new album 'Sitting Pretty On Top of the World' to celebrate the last couple years of my life," Alaina said.
Not only is Lauren releasing a new album, but she's releasing an emotional new book about her life and journey. Getting Good at Being You drops in November.
