Last month, our Sonia Isabelle caught up with legendary singer Lea Salonga. The star told us all about her groundbreaking career and more.

Lea Talks Being A "Disney Legend"

Lea was named a "Disney Legend" for her work with The Walt Disney Company. She is best known as the singing voice of Mulan and Jasmine. The star shared what it was like to receive the honor:

"It was crazy. I still remember the ceremony…I remember getting to put my hands in wet cement, and that plaque is now displayed on a wall in Burbank. I remember getting to sing with a few other Disney voices who were also named legends… And I remember going to Disney land that afternoon with my family. And they said, as a Disney legend you get to go to the park for free for I guess the rest of your life. And that's like the biggest perk of what I've been able to do."

Lea's Advice to Young Women

With so many accomplishments under her belt, Lea's massive sphere of influence comes as no surprise. Lea shared her words of advice to any young women hoping to purse a career in the entertainment industry. She said:

"Don't take rejection seriously. Don't take rejection personally because, usually, it has nothing to do with the kind of person that you are."
