Ledisi Releases 'The Wild Card' On An Important Day 📰

On this day 57 years ago, Martin Luther King Jr. led the #MarchOnWashington where he delivered his famous "I Have A Dream" speech.

It was also on this important day that President Barack Obama accepted the Democrat nomination back in 2008.

R&B superstar, Ledisi, is celebrating this monumental day with a brand new album, The Wild Card.

"This is the perfect time. People need music, people are listening. 8/28 is a big day! We know how to come together," Ledisi said.

Ledisi is hoping to inspire change and start important conversations. Speaking with our social producer, Ricky Cornish, the star opened up on her fight for equality.

"This group of young people said, 'we ain't doing this no more!' We have an armor to wear to go out into the world and make it better. We can't even touch as much, but it's made us reach to each other even more," Ledisi said.
