During the Olympics, a brief teaser aired for Adam McKay's upcoming comedy, Don't Look Up. Details about this film have been notoriously hard to come by, so this thirty second video has revealed an enormous amount of new information.

Don't Look Up stars Leonardo DiCaprio (with outrageous facial hair) and Jennifer Lawrence as a pair of middling astronomers who discover a massive oncoming asteroid, headed straight for Earth. The collision could potentially wipe out all of humanity, so the astronomers launch a massive media tour to alert people about the threat. Their hope is that they can convince someone in power to send an expedition into space and divert the comet, a la Deep Impact.

As shown by the teaser, one of the meetings on this tour is with the president, played by Meryl Streep, and her son and Chief of Staff, played by Jonah Hill. The scene, which contains some of McKay's trademark humor, shows that DiCaprio's character is going to have a debilitating breathing problem, and that Hill's character will attempt to downplay the seriousness of their rapidly-approaching doom.

The cast has been zestfully stacked with A-list talent: Cate Blanchett, Timothée Chalamet, Ariana Grande, Kid Cudi, Chris Evans (who originally had a larger role but now only appears in one small scene), and Matthew Perry all make appearances in the film. With such a roster, it's no surprise that the film's runtime is nearly two and a half hours.

Don't Look Up premieres on Netflix sometime in late 2021.
