Lorde recently guest-starred on an episode of Late Night with Seth Meyersparticipating in his "Day Drinking" interview segment ending her day with an IV.

The singer returned to the show Wednesday night for the first time since 2017 to mark its first full production musical performance since March 2020.

The two visited Zero Bond in New York City playing numerous drinking games based on the Grammy winner's song titles including "Solar Power," "Ribs" and "Royals." The comedian made his own concoctions of cocktails which included a mix of iced coffee, Red Bull, espresso beans and a hint of Four Loko which the singer didn't seem to mind the taste of. To commemorate her song "Ribs" Meyers dunked a pink rib into some gin. "Honestly, I don't hate it," Lorde admitted.

The drinking games also included testing each other on New England and New Zealand terms where the loser took a shot if they couldn't define the slangs such as "30 rack" "wop wops" and "bach." They then played "Royals" in which they had to test each other's knowledge of famous royal faces while holding up a picture. Meyers showed he needed to brush up on his history of royals after having to down multiple shots of Crown Royal which according to him is "what the Queen drinks."

Throughout the segment, Meyers was clearly inebriated as the 24-year-old kept asking him what her full name (Ella Marija Lani Yelich-O'Connor) and had to drink every time he called her by her incorrect name. By the end, the talk show host was calling the singer "Ella Bella Rockefella" which ended the segment with Lorde pouring him another shot for his final incorrect answer.

The pair finished the afternoon drinking session at their own easels recreating the painting of Lorde's cover art album for her 2017 album Melodrama, and Meyers sang a rendition of the singer's song "Green Light" for her in which she had to cover her ears for.

"I almost can't even talk about it. I can't look at an alcoholic drink ever again," Lorde told Meyers a week later on his show, "You did kind of destroy me, and I had to get a very pop-star thing: an IV drip."

Lorde's third studio album Solar Power comes out on August 20.
