August 23rd and August 24th are both special days. On the 23rd, late NBA Hall of Famer and cultural icon Kobe Bryant would have turned 43 years old. On the 24th, the star's Laker numbers of eight and 24 are combined to be 8/24 - a day that celebrates the life and legacy of the Black Mamba.

As we celebrate Mamba Day today, many fans, celebs, and organizations are taking time to acknowledge what Kobe Bryant has done not only for the game of basketball, but what he has done for people as a whole. Through his signature "Mamba Mentality" and iconic quotes and moments, his legacy is cemented as one of the greatest ever.
