Matthew Perry has a new memoir coming out called Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing, and he is not holding back!

A source tells Us Weekly,

"He wants to recount his experiences, both good and bad, to help others and set the record straight over several incidents that were either untold until now, taken out of context, or in some cases twisted the wrong way and needing complete clarification."

The source continues,

"Plus, he'll discuss what went wrong in a number of his past relationships. It wasn't always a bed of roses for Matthew on and off the Friends set, and Matt isn't going to sugarcoat the tougher times that he went through with the cast. He'll also discuss what it was like at the reunion, both good and bad."

Perry sparked concern from fans after Friends: The Reunion dropped on HBO Max in May 2021. However, Kevin Bright, who served as an executive producer on the long-running NBC sitcom, told The Hollywood Reporter at the time that the Friends alum seemed "stronger and better since the last time I saw him, and excited about going forward."

In a recent interview, costar Courteney Cox said that Perry put an intense amount of "pressure" on himself to get laughs on Friends.

She said,

"He's just struggled for a while," Cox told the Times of London in a new interview on Sunday. "I think he's doing great now." The actress added that Perry, who previously admitted he would "freak out" if a line fell flat, "put a lot of pressure on himself."

Cox said she never gets sick of talking about the hit show.

"No, that was such a huge part of my life. It was such a lucky situation that I fell into the show, and I went through so many things in those ten years," she said.
