"Matilda" is back like never before!

The Roald Dahl novel from 1988 comes to the screen again, and this time, Academy Award-winning actress Emma Thompson is taking on the role of Miss Trunchbull.

The story of Matilda Wormwood has won Tony and Olivier awards since the musical’s 2010 debut. Now, Netflix will take this musical to screens and follow Matilda’s story with Alisha Weir playing this curious young girl.

Weir’s Matilda will face Thompson’s Miss Trunchbull, who strictly runs the school Crunchem Hall. Matilda will have to face Thompson’s villainous authority throughout the film and finally take a stand to teach her a lesson.

The movie is director by Matthew Warchus with screenplay adapted by Dennis Kelly.

Throughout this musical film, viewers can listen to songs composed by Tim Minchin.
