Matthew McConaughey will not be writing an ordinary celebrity book. The star is releasing Greenlights on October 20th and we have all you need to know about it below!

McConaughey's Announcement

McConaughey first announced this new venture through an Instagram video posted on Wednesday. In it he shared the meaning of Greenlights to him:

"It's called Greenlights because its a story about how I have, and we all can catch more of them in this life we're living. We don't like the red and yellow lights because they take up our time, right? But when we realize that they all eventually turn green, that's when they reveal their rhyme. That's when life's a poem and we start getting what we want and what we need. I call that the honey hole, a little place called heaven on Earth."

Crown Publishing also spoke about how McConaughey was able to put together a book dedicated to his love for life. In their announcement Crown shared:

"He found not only stories, questions, truths, and affirmations, but also a reliable theme. From growing up as an adventurous kid in a tough-love Texas home of rule breakers, to revelatory journeys to Australia, Peru, and Mali, to his early days in Hollywood and meteoric rise to fame, McConaughey shares how his life experiences have instilled in him the importance of competent values, the power of new experiences, and, as he puts it, 'either changing your reality or changing how you see it.'"

Readers cannot wait to see what McConaughey has put together for this one of a kind book. Greenlights is now available for pre-order!
