Meghan Markle Delivers Powerful Speech To Over 40,000 People

2020 Girl Up Leadership Summit: Meghan Markle, The Duchess of Sussex

Meghan Markle delivered an empowering speech that is worth watching.

Meghan Markle stood out from the massive lineup of speakers at the Girl Up Leadership Summit this year. Her inspirational words had people (remotely) on their feet.

The Duchess of Sussex graced people from all over the world with her speech. Markle's extensive history of being an actress, activist and philanthropist allowed her to shed light on the things she has learned while taking on those roles.

Markle used her speech to build up young women and encourage them to use their voices. She touched on gender equality, racism, leadership, activism and the importance of building positive digital communities. She goes on by singling out the younger generation and the importance of their role in society:

"Your generation is often referred to as digital natives, and you understand that our online world has the power to affirm and support as much as it does to harm. We are not meant to be breaking each other down; we are meant to be building each other up."

Markle continued her speech by praising the young generation's efforts to evoke meaningful change, specifically the Black Lives Matter movement and the reform of the criminal justice system. As her speech came to an end, Markle left attendees with one final remark:

"The growth and change you're pursuing might not feel like anything day-to-day, but when you look back, I promise you'll see it all adds up."

The entire Girl Up Leadership Summit was a huge success, and Markle was the icing on the cake. An overwhelming amount of positive feedback has been circulating twitter, praising Markle for her words:
