He’s not your average Joe…

There’s a new Warden in town in the new Spectrum Original series, Joe Pickett.

“He is the type of human that I strive to be. He is the honest human. He is the advocate for the voiceless," Michael Dorman said.

Joe Pickett follows a game warden who is dedicated to keeping his community safe. Just when things seem to be normal, Joe finds himself wrapped up in a conspiracy. Dorman's co-stars include David Alan Grier who plays Joe’s predecessor.

“Your first impression is this is a nice guy he’s funny, he’s jovial, but this character isn’t. And as soon as they said that, I went oh let’s go let’s work," Grier said.

The Tony-Award winner is known for comedic roles in such shows as In Living Color. Clearly this role pushed him out of his comfort zone in the best way possible. Another one of Dorman’s co-stars is Julianna Guill, who plays Joe’s wife, Marianne.

“While they are very unique characters and very specific people. This is something that is very relatable because the family is struggling to not only support their kids but to be there for each other in finding themselves amidst a larger conspiracy," Guill said.

As if that weren’t enough stars, also in the cast is acting veteran Sharon Lawrence. Best known for her role in the long-running series NYPD Blue, Lawrence plays Joe’s mother in-law, Missy.

“People love to see secrets being revealed and understanding conflicting interests and who is a good guy and who is a bad guy. It really does capture all of those things in a family drama," Lawrence said.

Joe Pickett is streaming now on Spectrum Originals.
